Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it Proverbs 8:33 (NIV).

First, let me tell you a story about what happened to me this week. I was using my gaming headset and for some reason the microphone was not working. No one could hear me talking. I spent at least a couple days trying to figure out the problem. I was too embarrassed to tell anyone about my problem, so every time I would get on I would hide by appearing offline. I was so frustrated with this headset, until it finally occurred to me that I should probably RTM (Read The Manual). As I studied the headset manual, I found the instructions to solve the problem. I sure wish I would have done that earlier.
As I was reading that manual a light bulb went off in my head. This is a lot like your walk with Christ. Let me explain myself. Have you ever had a problem figuring something out in life? Maybe the question has popped in your head, “Is what I am doing a sin?” Maybe you have needed guidance on a subject such as suicide, sexual immorality, or your money. Maybe you have needed instructions to handle a difficult situation. Or perhaps you have just been trying to figure out God’s plan for your life. You need to RTM. The Bible is a 66 book instruction manual on how to lead a Christ-like life. As I grow in my faith, I find myself more and more amazed by this book. If you want know who God is and what He desires for you, you must read this manual. It is a necessary part of your walk with God.This book is so special, that even as I am writing I am beginning to feel ashamed even calling it a “manual,” because it is the LIVING, BREATHING, WORD OF GOD!
Without reading the Bible daily you can easily begin to feel alone and frustrated, just as I did when I could not get that headset to work. In Proverbs 8:33, God says, “Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it. (NIV) I like the end of this verse. Don’t just read the Bible; soak it up, obey it, and be encouraged in your faith.
Stay Frosty,
Jacob Banks
